4th Oct 2012...
We were put into our groups are were asked by Sean to 'flesh' up our ideas. Our group have had some ideas but are still working on a final decisions. My own thoughts on the idea is that I don't think that it will turn out as expected. Meaning, that it is meant to be funny but in the end might not turn out in that way, but may still give a giggle to the audience. Hopefully as we begin our way through the project the idea will start to develop on itself.
Here We Go...
5th Oct 2012...
Today we went over our idea and confirm with Ellie if the idea was good enough for 90 seconds. We also started our Synopsis at which Bradly, Me and, Kieran summed up what the story line was going to be. In this lessons we mostly focused on where props would be placed and how they would move around our film, rather than the location of the filming .On Monday, next lesson I think we should start on what specific props we are going to use and what clothing we are going to use. Also an official confirmation on the location will be decided.

The Filming Starts This Week...
9th Oct 2012...
Today we were finishing our storyboards and was just completed before the lesson had ended. The decided name for the 90 Second film is called 'BALLS' but is a 'working title'. We all had input in the lessons and we had changed some shots and linked some together to be one shot. Now we have finished our storyboards, we must now take photos of where we will shoot our film so that we have a official shooting location.
One More Thing Off The Checklist...
10th Oct 2012...
Today we took photos of where we will be filming our 90 Second DepicT! Project. We took 8 photos which involved the general football pitch, the fence to where the ball will be going over, long shot of the area to see where the sun will be positioned and the goal post which may or may not be in the final cut. We have started and finished writing out our risk assessment and will hopefully finish the paper work either today or tomorrow. When finished, it will be posted on our blogs.
Hopefully Start The Filming Tomorrow...
11th Oct 2012...
Started to do some test shots and thankfully the weather was decent and was correct for the applied test shots. We mainly focused on the 'High Angle' shot which went really well. However we have the camera on a tripod being held by who ever is going to film whilst standing on the a bench. It was a very tricky shot to get but work effectively to what we wanted. Also it will only be a 2 - 5 second shot, so it should be fine. My only concern would be the weather. We need sunshine! By the end of the lesson we have moved over our test shots to the MAC for observation. Will be shooting the film tomorrow.
Fingers Crossed For Good Weather...
12th Oct 2012...
Unfortunately the weather was not good so we had to cancel the shooting of the film. However, it gave us a chance to get some paper work done. Today we were able to get the contact sheet, the adult and minor talent releases done. This in a way gives us a step forward in completing the DepicT! Project on schedule. Just need to get the releases signed and put into our team folder. Hopefully Monday will have better weather.
Going For A Second Try...
15th Oct 2012...
Today our group decided to start taking shots as it was coming close to our deadline. As we made ourselves outside, it was cold and very muddy, so we did get a lot of mud on us. When taking the shots we realised that it was harder than we thought to get the correct shots. For example our 'take down' shot was difficult as being tackled was triggering reflexes which did not flow with the shot. It stated to get colder so we went back to the classroom and looked over our shots. Sean (our teacher) suggested to us to film shorter clips and from different kind of angles. This then changed the beginning shots of our storyboard as the angles and shots were different to what we originally had. This was suggested to us because we wanted the 90 Second film to be fast pace. So we did some practice shots with him and then adapted them to our own shots. Unfortunately we didn't get a lot down filming wise, but it was better than nothing. Hopefully tomorrow we can get all the filming done so that we can begin editing.
Last Day Of Filming...
16th Oct 2012...
Today we had a good opportunity to finished our shooting of the 90 Second DepicT! Film. Today the weather had improved but the wind did pick up. This was difficult to look at our storyboard sheet as it was flapping around everywhere. It also affected our audio on our footage, but it can be sorted in the editing. We did not go in chronological order on our storyboard sheet as we had shots from the previous day. Filming the rest of the shots was no challenge. When we finished our shooting we started to edit our work. I was given about 30 minutes editing time before I had to swap over to the next person. In my editing I was able to create match on action sequences and was able to draft a final cut. Also we had started jotting down what shots we didn't use and why. One of them was 'Shot 2, The Over The Shoulder Shot Of The Opposite Person'. This was not used as it did not have a good flow of continuity and did not look quick and exciting. Another was the 'High Angle Shot'. This was not use because it also did not have a good flow of continuity and again did not look quick and exciting. One problem we did have was that we were wearing different clothes in different shots as we shot on a 2 day period. .This did affect continuity but did inform it was noted. So far we have a draft of the final cut and titles are a work in progress. Tomorrow will consist of getting our final cut done and what shots we didn't used noted so that it can posted on our next blog entry.
Filming Is Finally Done!...
17th Oct 2012...
Today in Sean's lesson we were able to finish the final edit of our 90 Second DepicT! Film. We have sorted our some continuity problems by asking Sean for assistance. Once we were finished with video edits we needed to add music for the scene at which Kieran had to lift the ball above his head in fascination. The way we did this was through the MAC Programme called 'Garage Band'. This was shown to us by Sean and he showed us how to create a 'choir' like track. This involved us three and Sean singing a 5 second track through the MAC microphone. Then we added reverb and exported it into our group folder. This was then added into Premiere Pro. We then added a 'Choir' audio effect to make sound quality more affective. When editing Sean noticed some continuity errors in clothing on Kieran. It was suggested us to go and film some shots again. The shots that we retook we the 'over the shoulder shot' of Kieran kicking the ball over the fence, 'crane up' of Kieran lifting the ball, 'mid shot' of both me and Kieran looking confused and pissed off (this was two different shots but had same angle and shot length). Once we retook our footage, we then came back to the classroom and put our footage onto the MAC. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a final edit and will have a complete note of what shots we didn't use and why.
Last Day Of Filming Is Complete...
18th Oct 2012...
Today we finished off our final cut to our movie and are waiting approval to export by either Sean or Ellie. We added the retaken shots from yesterday and they seem to flow better than the previous shots. One thing that we did notice about our film when all of the clips were put together, was that the film wasn't 90 seconds long. We told Sean and he said that it was not a big problem as it is our first project and is a good learning curb for future projects. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have a final exported 90 Second DepicT! Film.
Ready To Render...
19th Oct 2012...
Today we had Ellie check our work to see if there was anything that we could change or improve before we export and render our 90 Second DepicT! Film. One thing that Ellie did notice was the high wind audio in some of our clips. These were in the clips because when we were filming, the wind on the particular day was strong so the that interfered with the audio on the video camera. However Ellie showed us and was able to sort the that situation by lowing the audio waves but making the clip mute. Also we did the same thing block out unwanted dialogue. The only thing that needs doing is getting the rest of the paper work done like the sheet that says what clips we didn't use and why and after that is done we will start to move onto the theory and evaluation work.
Exporting Complete!...
24th Oct 2012...
Today Sean asked all of us where we were at with our 90 Second DepicT! Shot Film. In our group we had decided that we had finished our work and that we were ready to start our own evaluation report. When I started my report I didn't seem to fall into any problems but when I did I just asked Ellie or Sean for assistance.
On To The Theory...
25th Oct 2012...
Today we continued with our evaluation report. So far I have the introduction done and the first section complete, full with hyperlinks to show the examiner that they can find more information about a particular name or company.
Off To A Good Start...
26th Oct 2012...
Today Ellie sat us down and help us go through the pre-report sheet so that we had guidelines to creating a good evaluation report. From today I will start to continue my report and hopefully get more complete.
Finger Tips At The Ready!...
15 Nov 2012...
At this point, all of the material needed for my DepicT! Unit, is complete. I have successfully completed the evaluation report, added all of the extra paper work to the blog, and have confirmed to Sean and Ellie that all of my work is done. I am now wating for my work to be marked.

8th Oct 2012...
Today we were asked to create a storyboard for our 90 Second DepicT film. Sean showed us how to present a storyboard and why they are needed in media production. Me, Bradly and Kieran came together and decided what shots were going to be used and how they would fit into our idea. When we finished we came up with about 20 - 25 shots and just started to add them to our storyboards.
